Senior Software Engineer – Devices

Role & Responsibilities

As a senior software engineer on the Devices team, you will be tasked with making architectural recommendations and working effectively on a small team to implement them. You should be comfortable with touching, modifying, or designing all levels of the system, from low-level Linux kernel modules, to OO code, to unit and system integration tests.

Required

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience writing and shipping good code in a team environment
  • Deep understanding of OOP, threading principles, and diverse design principles
  • Strong proficiency with Git
  • Python experience
  • Ability to work out of our Cambridge, MA offices
  • A nose for architecture, and willingness to touch every level of our stack

Preferred

  • Experience interacting with hardware / low-level protocols (e.g. I2C, UART, CAN, etc.)
  • Embedded Linux experience
  • Docker experience
  • Experience writing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience building and integrating 3rd-party libraries
  • Firmware experience, including using embedded IDEs, and writing in C/C++
  • Experience building services in AWS or GCP
